Dear Parishioners: 
Greetings of Peace and Love! 
In my previous letter for the month of October, I asked for your prayer for our pilgrims who would be joining me and Fr. Ron Sibugan in our Pilgrimage to visit holy places in Italy for the Jubilee Year celebration. Indeed, what a blessing it was for all of us to see those beautiful holy sites. One of our pilgrims told me that he was glad that he joined us in our pilgrimage because it truly nourished his spiritual life. Aside from visiting the tombs of the saints like visiting the Basilicas of St. Anthony, St. Francis, Churches of St. Clare and Santa Maria, Carlo Acutis tomb, Shrine of Padre Pio, he said that he loved so much when we pray together the Holy Rosary, every day. 
Perhaps, many of you also joined us during those moments when we prayed the rosary daily because I posted it on our Facebook page. As the saying goes, "a family or community that prays togethe,; stays together." Susie Lloyd, a catholic writer once said, "praying together bonded us as a family. Some people might argue that anything a family does together would have the same effect, be it baseball, or fishing. True to a point, but those are all natural activities. Praying goes beyond. It is supernatural. Jesus said, 'Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them' (Matthew 18:20)." 
During our pilgrimage in Italy, in my homilies, while we were visiting the beautiful churches, I reminded our pilgrims, that we should not forget the reason why we are doing pilgrimages. It is not just to visit holy sites, or to take pictures like ordinary tourists, but to also remember, "we are here to deepen our relationship with God and with one another." The plenary indulgences we get from visiting holy sites become meaningless if our heart is not open to God's graces, if we are not ready to experience METANOIA, the transformation of our heart and mind. 
One of the places we visited was the Manoppello Veil, also known as the Holy Face of Manoppello, "II Volto Santo". It is a revered Christian relic housed in Manoppello, Italy, bearing a faint, open-eyed image of Jesus Christ. It also reminded us pilgrims that as Jesus is the face of God, we should also see His Face in the person we encounter daily. Actually, for me, it is the most important lesson I have learned from this pilgrimage. I know that not all of us will have the privilege to visit holy sites, but if we practice daily with the guidance of the Holy Spirit to try our best to see Jesus in each other, then we do not have to visit holy sites, important as it is, to encounter Hirn in a personal way. In the words of Mother Teresa, "the people we meet daily, the poor, the sick, and the suffering, they are Jesus in disguise. " 
My dear parishioners, with this mind, let us continue to pray for one another, and let us never forget that in the small gestures of charity we show to one another, we are truly building God's kingdom here in our community. As the Holy Father Pope Leo XIV reminded us always, "In Illo Uno Unum", although we Christians are many, in the One Christ we are One."

En mi carta anterior del mes de octubre, les pedí su oración por nuestros peregrinos que se unirían a mí y al P. Ron Sibugan en nuestra peregrinación para visitar lugares santos en Italia para la celebración del Año Jubilar. De hecho, qué bendición fue para todos nosotros ver esos hermosos lugares sagrados. Uno de nuestros peregrinos me dijo que estaba contento de haberse unido a nosotros en nuestra peregrinación porque realmente alimentaba su vida espiritual. Además de visitar las tumbas de los santos como visitar las Basílicas de San Antonio, San Francisco, las Iglesias de Santa Clara y Santa María, la tumba de Carlo Acutis, el Santuario del Padre Pío, dijo que amaba mucho cuando rezamos juntos el Santo Rosario, todos los días. 
Quizás, muchos de ustedes también se unieron a nosotros durante esos momentos en los que rezamos el rosario diariamente porque lo publiqué en nuestra página de Facebook. Como dice el refrán, "una familia o comunidad que reza junta; permanece unido". Susie Lloyd, una escritora católica, dijo una vez: "Orar juntos nos unió como familia. Algunas personas podrían argumentar que cualquier cosa que una familia haga junta tendría el mismo efecto, ya sea béisbol o pesca. Cierto hasta cierto punto, pero todas esas son actividades naturales. Orar va más allá. Es sobrenatural. Jesús dijo: 'Donde están dos o tres reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos' (Mateo 18:20)". 
Durante nuestra peregrinación a Italia, en mis homilías, mientras visitábamos las hermosas iglesias, recordé a nuestros peregrinos que no debemos olvidar la razón por la que estamos haciendo peregrinaciones. No es solo para visitar lugares sagrados o tomar fotografías como turistas comunes, sino también para recordar: "estamos aquí para profundizar nuestra relación con Dios y entre nosotros". Las indulgencias plenarias que obtenemos al visitar lugares sagrados no tienen sentido si nuestro corazón no está abierto a las gracias de Dios, si no estamos listos para experimentar METANOIA, la transformación de nuestro corazón y mente. 
Uno de los lugares que visitamos fue el Velo de Manoppello, también conocido como la Santa Faz de Manoppello, "II Volto Santo". Es una reliquia cristiana venerada que se encuentra en Manoppello, Italia, con una imagen tenue y con los ojos abiertos de Jesucristo. También nos recordó a los peregrinos que, como Jesús es el rostro de Dios, también debemos ver Su Rostro en la persona que encontramos a diario. En realidad, para mí, es la lección más importante que he aprendido de esta peregrinación. Sé que no todos tendremos el privilegio de visitar lugares sagrados, pero si practicamos diariamente con la guía del Espíritu Santo para hacer todo lo posible para ver a Jesús en los demás, entonces no tenemos que visitar lugares sagrados, por importantes que sean, para encontrarnos con Hirn de una manera personal. En palabras de la Madre Teresa, "las personas que encontramos a diario, los pobres, los enfermos y los que sufren, son Jesús disfrazado". 
Mis queridos feligreses, con esta mente, sigamos orando unos por otros, y nunca olvidemos que en los pequeños gestos de caridad que nos mostramos unos a otros, estamos realmente construyendo el reino de Dios aquí en nuestra comunidad. Como nos recordaba siempre el Santo Padre el Papa León XIV, "In Illo Uno Unum", aunque los cristianos somos muchos, en el único Cristo somos uno".
